Management Drives
Management Drives is a method that makes people’s motivations visible. Drives are motivators that predict how a team or person uses their knowledge, skills and competencies. The method recognizes six drivers for behaviour, each marked with a colour. The six drivers (colours) each give meaning to someone’s personal leadership and provide insight into how people behave in normal situations and under stress.
The method assumes that every person has certain talents, skills, and social abilities. For example, one person may be more socially skilled than another, while another may be more adept. Management Drives helps to gain insight into why people’s talents do or do not come into their own. It not only gives managers insight into the driving force of employees, but it also helps them determine the impact of individuals on the dynamics of the team.
Use of Management Drives
Management Drives is a method that many executives and managers use. By gaining insight into the drivers and actively adapting their leadership style to this, they work on:
- A team that performs optimally, in which an atmosphere of optimal cooperation is leading
- Change processes that run smoothly and with full commitment from the entire team

Drives are seen within this method as the links between what someone thinks they are going to do and what they are actually going to do. They give direction to the ability of people and the team. An essential nuance here is that the drives only focus on the ability, quality is completely disregarded.
